ChopTime Africa Privacy Policy

Effective 18 October 2026 · ChopTime Africa for iPhone, iPad and Android

In short: you can play ChopTime Africa offline without an account. Online features (friends, invites, online duels and CHOP Tokens) use a small account with a username you choose. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or location, we don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell data.

Stored only on your device

Your progress: coins, deliveries, ratings, unlocked liveries and rider names
Your settings (sound, visuals, controls) and the age band you choose at the welcome screen
Weekly and monthly rankings on this device

Deleting the app deletes this data.

ChopTime Online (only if you go online)

When the game connects to ChopTime Online it creates a guest account for your device. We store:

Account: an account ID, a one-way scrambled (hashed) device identifier for the guest account, your @username and rider name, the rider and country you pick, and your age band (under 13 / 13–17 / 18+). We never store your birth date.
Sign in with Apple or Google (optional): only the anonymous account identifier Apple or Google gives us, so you can keep your account on a new phone. We do not receive your name, email or photo.
Friends and play: your friends list, friend requests, game invites, online duel results (wins and losses), the players you block and reports you send or receive.
Invite codes: your invite code, share count, the account that invited you, join date, phone platform (iPhone or Android), and whether you completed a delivery. These support in-game invitation counts and do not provide rewards.
Security: temporary abuse counters use IP addresses. Security logs may record an IP address, event time, app, blocked-request category and temporary block expiry. They do not include passwords, sign-in tokens, request bodies or query strings. Blocks and counters are process-local and temporary; hosting log retention is managed separately.
Purchases: your CHOP Token balance, remaining Rider Pass deliveries and the store transaction IDs of your purchases, so each purchase is delivered exactly once. Apple and Google handle payment; we never see your card or payment details.

There is no chat in ChopTime Africa. Other players see only your @username, rider, country and online status.

Optional friend notifications

If you enable friend notifications and allow them on your device, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and Apple Push Notification service to send friend requests, accepted requests and delivery-duel invitations. We store your notification delivery token and platform with your account. These identifiers are used for delivery, not advertising or analytics. Notifications use generic text without rider names on the lock screen. Tokens expire from our server after 30 days without refresh; turning notifications off or deleting your account removes registration. Block and parental settings also apply to notifications.

Why we use it

Only to run the game: your account, friends, invitation counts, online duels, abuse prevention, safety tools (block, report, parental settings) and delivering purchases. Data is not used for advertising, is not shared with advertisers and is not sold.

What we don't collect

No name, email, phone number or birth date
No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access
No advertising ID, analytics or tracking SDKs
No third-party ad networks. The billboards in the game are first-party promotions for LAAK RICHARD products, chosen without any personal data.

Children

At the welcome screen everyone picks an age band. Players under 13 play as guests: friends, invites and online duels stay off unless a parent switches them on in the game, and they cannot buy without the store's own parental controls (Apple Ask to Buy, Google Family Link). We don't knowingly collect more data from children than the account details above.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your online account until you delete it. Delete it any time in the game: PROFILE › ACCOUNT › DELETE ACCOUNT. This removes your account, username, friends, invites, referral records, blocks, duel record, CHOP Token balance and Rider Pass deliveries straight away. We keep only anonymous store transaction IDs (so a purchase can't be delivered twice) and reports about other players needed for safety. You can also email us to delete your account.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Your rights and contact

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it. Email [email protected]. If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the game.
